Vivian was born on August 15, which is the observed holy day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary by the Catholic church, and, as a result, she has always had a feeling of closeness to Mary. In 1968, at age ten, while on a Girl Scout camp outing at Turkey Point Wildlife Refuge in South Florida, Vivian was privileged to see an apparition of the Blessed Mother, which led to a deepening of her devotion to her.
Vivian learned to make rosaries while a student at St. Brendan’s Elementary School in Miami, Florida. She had felt a calling to become a nun and, after school she would spend time at the convent with the sisters. One of them took her under her wings and taught her how to make rosaries, which they sent free to the missionaries that needed them. Unfortunately, poor health prevented her from following her desire to be a nun.

Since Vivian began selling rosaries online in 1999, she has created several rosary stores, some which are now run by other independent rosary makers. Several successful rosary stores now flourish on the Internet due to her work, providing high-end quality rosaries for Catholics able to afford them. These same rosary stores often use part of their profits to distribute free rosaries to the disadvantaged and donate money to the education of priests.

The rosary artisan and webmaster feels it is both an honor and a privilege to be able to make a rosary someone will use in prayer, whether it is a plastic rosary she gives away to spread devotion to the holy rosary, or a wonderful heirloom rosary that will be treasured in a family for generations. But, best of all, she is happy to be working in a craft that does something for the Mother of God.
